Apologies for the lapse in blogging. I’ve been a bit sick lately. Bit out of it as a result. And enough so to have left work early on Halloween to go home and crash.
And there is nothing quite like being woken up, while sick, by a big boom.
We Americans shoot fireworks on the 4th of July. Vancouver shoots off fireworks on Halloween, everywhere! My neighborhood sounded like the 4th of July, and it was beautiful. I could see them from the school yard park spot a block down. And since it was a warm evening, for me, it took a few minutes to realize it was Halloween.
I ventured out, and ran into parents taking kids trick-or-treating and walking the dog. I don’t remember any costumes, but kids were dressed up. Some of the churches and schools nearby were having parties. Despite the rain, it was rather festive.
So the big difference seems to be fireworks. Canadians love fireworks on Halloween.
