WE WON! WE WON!
The softball team I’m on won our playoff game last night. We advance to the next round. We beat the number one seed! 9-4. I’m pretty stoked!
We played really well, offensively and defensively. Hits came through in the clutch to score runs. Big plays in the field. Turned two double plays. I played right field and made two great catches. It was awesome. And perfect baseball weather. Field was dry or wet. Just the right mix of sun and clouds.
All the elements came together last night.
And for the first time, I forgot I was from somewhere else.
I was too high off the big win last night to realize that. After the game we all went out to dinner at a place called Slo-Can. Sitting around the picnic tables on their patio, talking about the game, shooting the breeze, ragging on each other for being indecisive on what to order (top many good choices, and breakfast all day!) felt normal. Like it had always been this way.
And we won! Single elimination playoffs. We won so we advance! Game next week.
