The view from the ferry (above) was fantastic Friday afternoon heading up. Takes two ferries, and a ling, winding road to get to Powell River. Reminds me a lot of Michigan. We arrived and went to dinner, watching the sunset from the restaurant deck (below).
The moon came out, and was just beautiful. Exactly what I had pictured western Canada to be.
And by now, my obsession with #mountains is well known. And the views are fantastic in Powell River. Little walking, heck little effort, required.
It was a good trip. Super fun weekend. There was talk about work, but when you’re traveling, staying and hanging out with coworkers, such talk is unavoidable. But we also had fun. Lots of fun!
I got introduced to spot prawns:
Or what shrimp looks like before it is sealed in a bag and placed on the freezer shelf at the grocer. Just as good, if not more so and a little different to eat. There was a debate over eating the brains. Some thought not doing so wasted a good part of the prawns while others disagreed.
Who eats prawn brains?
The weekend served as a nice getaway, and change of scenery. There was much PS3, Wii and laughter. And one amazing Mario Party comeback. Really fun to watch.
I was happy all weekend.
A good memory to add to the one from last year.
Progress!
