Maybe we need colonoscopy prep care packages

Colonoscopies aren’t fun.

Colonoscopy prep is not fun.

Can’t do much about the procedure, but what about a colonoscopy prep care package?

Such was a thought that popped into my head while doing the dishes, and prepping. The doctor sends a packet of instructions, timelines, what you can and cannot eat or drink and within what time period.

No red or purple or blue liquids. No solid foods 3 days before the procedure. You’re limited to clear liquids like Sprite or 7Up, or lime Poppi, chicken broth, gummy bears, and jello as long as they aren’t red, purple, or blue.

What if you received a care package containing enough clear liquids, gummy bears, and jello to see you through prep, and the day after the procedure? All the red gummy bears would already be removed so you just have clear, green, and orange. And how cool would it be if Haribo made colonoscopy prep specific bags of gummy bears?

People send flowers when you’re in the hospital, and some might even send Edible arrangements. People send cards, flowers, things that brighten an otherwise unpleasant experience.

Why not do the same for colonoscopy prep?

Sure, you can purchase the stuff yourself, but I wonder if receiving a care package would brighten the day instead.
