Such is the view as the train pulls out of the station. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing #mountains.
The train station in Stanwood is single platform. And small so there is no mistaking which train to take. Only one train can come through at a time. One passenger train, I believe. And being used to airport security and long lines, it was refreshing to be just one of four people in the platform.
I haven’t taken Amtrak since I was like, 10, when Mom and I went to visit family in Omaha. Needless to say I have no recollection of the ride, other than I got food poisoning.
So I don’t have expectations and I’m not entirely sure what to expect. On boarding was incredibly quick and efficient. Conductor (yes! Really!) asked for my ticket and passport. He scanned the QR code (yes! Really!) looked at my passport, handed it back and said “Enjoy the ride.”
Cool.
Amtrak also has free wifi. Free wifi!
Also cool.
Will see what the rest of the trip is like.
