See? Oklahoma is flat. Just. Flat. Straight, with occasional rolling hills, which are hard to make out.
Look hard enough and you’ll see rounded tops, but you do have to look hard. Granted, it is beautiful. For about 5 miles or so. At 50, a change is nice. At 75, even buildings will suffice! How I managed that road trip in 2010, I don’t know. Good music I guess, and a desire to speed to the destination. Nice thing about such flat land: you can see the cops well before their radar guns see you.
Now, this is what I returned to in Vancouver:
Beautiful! #mountains and trees that finally turned. They were still pretty green when I left. And, it turns out, that isn’t all that was different.
Snow on the mountain tops! Snow! In October! I think I’ve pretty much run the weather gamut now. It was nice and Fall like in Chicago, complete with those thunderstorms you get when the season is going from hot to cold. Oklahoma still felt like summer. And here back in Van, winter has descended down to the mountain tops.
What a cool planet to live on.
